SOCAP 2026
Creating Economic Opportunity in Chicago's North Lawndale Community
Welcome to North Lawndale!
Steans Family Foundation is happy to welcome you to our Chicago Community Session for SOCAP26.
Since 1996, Steans Family Foundation has invested alongside residents and organizations in this west side community to strengthen education, expand employment, foster community safety and well-being, and build lasting economic opportunity.
We envision North Lawndale as a growing community with a thriving economy where residents, especially the neighborhood’s historically Black population, have strong educational and economic outcomes. Our community session will show you the fruits of those investments firsthand.

Our Stops
Buses will stop at locations throughout the North Lawndale community where sustained investment is creating economic opportunity for residents and positively impacting the future of the community.
