HBHC Pilot Program
During the 2009 Illinois General Assembly, Senator Heather Steans sponsored Bill SB2043: a Medicaid Low-Birth weight study. This bill creates a pilot program for Medicaid eligible women who have had a high risk pregnancy to participate in interconceptional care.

The Steans Family Foundation concentrates its grant making and programs in North Lawndale, a revitalizing neighborhood on Chicago's west side. By dedicating time, money, and skills, this small family foundation works in partnership with local residents and institutions to build and enhance the North Lawndale community. The Foundation's work supports the idea that effective revitalization can occur within the embedded social and economic networks that create and sustain communities. |
A Quality Education
LEARN Romano-Butler first opened its doors in the North Lawndale community in 2004 and currently serves over 580 scholars in grades pre-kindergarten through 8th. LEARN teachers and staff work tirelessly to ensure the success of each individual student. Their System of Learning is based on LEARN's core beliefs about how students learn most effectively. |
